The DJ Auto Group, one of the biggest brands in the U.S. auto industry, reported Wednesday that it would be the world’s most profitable automotive brand in 2020, a figure that would put it at No. 1 globally.DJ Auto’s annual report is the latest in a series of annual reports that the company has been releasing over the past several years, showing its growing global presence.
The DJ auto brand has been in existence since the mid-1990s, and it has sold vehicles in the United States, Europe and Asia.DJ Automotive, based in the New Jersey city of Fort Lee, is a global brand, with nearly 50 brands across the world.
The company’s market share in 2016 stood at 9.6%, according to a report from Euromonitor International.
The firm said it expects to have sales of about $3.5 billion in 2020.
The average price of a DJ auto was $18,400, according to the report.
DJ Automotive has been the target of a number of lawsuits, including a lawsuit from U.K. car maker Nissan over its emissions standards.
Nissan, which is a partner of the DJ Auto brand, is seeking to have the U in the EU’s Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) declare it guilty of breaching EU rules on air pollution.
